The Ford village and Museum

Posted on Oct. 26, 2006 at 10:52 in Detroit (Subscribe)

After I finally arrived in Detroit we went to the Ford Museum. Apparently he built an entire village and brought to it old houses from everywhere in America and even England. The place is really nice, full of color and currently also of migrating wild Canadian geese.
I managed to get some really nice pictures (about 100).

The village is quite big and you can easily spend 2 hours exploring the place. It has quite a few attractions, the top 3 for me were the glass blowing workshop (with live demonstrations), the steam engine train that goes around the village and the old model T car ride (both for a few extra $).

Next to the village is the Ford museum that has a car of every Ford model ever made, including some planes and the car Kennedy got shot in (did not get a picture of that). It is a nice museum but somehow after the cars I saw everywhre in Detroit it wasn't as exiting.

I have added some of my favorite pictures.

Enjoy.
