Vienna for one day
I was in Budapest visiting some friends, when a morning I decided to go to Vienna. My grandma always wanted me to visit there.
Vienna is like 200km from Budapest and is a very easy and friendly road to get there. There are no mountains in the way or any other difficulty.
When I got to Vienna the first thing I wanted is to find a parking place… and was very difficult as I didn’t understand German – even in the tourist area, there’re no English signs, and the many symbols with crosses and more crosses were not familiar to me. Finally I got to an underground paid parking: luck y me!
There are some nice castles and churches that you must visit in Vienna; it’s all around the corner so it’s not a problem to go from one place to another. There are also scheduled tours all day long to different places, and while you eat a classic sausage on the street, a tour guide with Mozart custom might come to you.
I couldn’t go to Vienna and not eat a schnitzel, and everyone there recommends a different place as the best schnitzel restaurant, so you better choose yourself, but believe me: all of them are good and more if it’s a cold day.
I left the center of the city after taking many pictures, visiting all possible museums, castles, churches and buying gadgets. Then I went to the other side of the Danube and found the Platter (the other big attraction of Vienna) but didn’t go into it because it was starting to rain.
As my grandma said, it’s a beautiful city and worth to go… and to me some 6-7 hours were enough!
