I had to express this exact particular moment into words. We arrived into Agra and we are sitting in a Pizza Hut(and nuthin but crap). There is a symphonic techno version of the theme song from Beverly Hills Cop blaring from the loudspeakers and........oh wait...the music has just stopped and all the waiters are standing in line and..........oh my god.....yes thats right......indian music is starting to play very loudly and they have just starting dancing indian style.......WTF!!!!!!!!!!! Our first exposure to traditional indian style dancing in a freaking Pizza Hut......this cannot be happening......this isn't how it was suppose to be......its like I just got cheated out of my whole India Experience. My theory is that they perform this dance to mask the horribly terrible food they serve here. We ordered the Shammi Kebab Lollies (mutton on a bread stick), Spaghetti w/ mushroom sauce and a Tandoori Chicken Chutneywala (chicken and cheese on pizza dough). The pasta bore a very strange resemblence to Nadine's famous "Garlic Spaghetti" but surprisingly nowhere near as good (this is not a good thing). The pizza, I have to admit was passable. Then there is the BELL.........at the front entrance (just so happens where we are sitting), when people leave, they ring this bell and then all the waiters yell out "Thank You"......I feel like I am in a David Lynch movie right now....... After a straight week of Indian food, we decided to take a break but after this weirdo momemt, I think we will go back to the standard fare. The food so far up to this has been great! Generally we have been ordering dishes where you can use roti or naan (bread) to scoop up or dip into. Of course, in India there are no pork or beef dishes so we have been ordering an assortment of mutton, chicken and vegetable dishes and to be honest, the veggie dishes have been by far the best so far. The one thing I want to try more is some of the street food as we have been sticking mainly to restaurants. After every meal, they bring out a tray filled with small cubes of sugar and anniseed which acts as a digestive......not very good, I think I will stick to mints.
