Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone,
Hopefully you all had good day, I had my Xmas lunch at the hostel in Freemantle then spent some time on the beach which was nice but really missing any festive spirit.Come 7:30pm it was still hot enough to walk around in just swim shorts or limp as in my case after taking a few knocks playing football - by about 11pm i couldn't put any weight on my left foot at all and was in severe discomfort even when attempting to hop a few meters. Now after wakening up on boxing day i've managed to put some weight down on my heel (i think my foots just bruised and swolen no breaks) and slowly walk/limp some places although i will really be taking it easy - that should not be too hard in sunny Perth though as it's still over 30deg outside as i write this (the weather is not so great in Melbourne though i already have a nice tan).
On Friday the 29th i fly to Melbourne for New Year's as i've spent more than enough time around about Perth. The furthest South i made it was about 300k where i spent a week round about Margaret River and Dunsborough, the thing about all these places is that first of all they are all quite small and Australia is such a relatively new country there is no evidence or culture to show there was any life here more than 50/70 years ago.Every town has a similar layout, very gridlike with the usual few shops with only the odd few local attractions/features and after seing a couple of places i had no desire to continue going further south or exploring new places so i returned Freematle about 18 days ago.The only dissapointment so far is that the roadtrip i was meant to go on was delayed, then cancelled so iv'e decided to fly over instead which is ok as there are a few people i can meet up with for new year.
Have a Happy New Year and I hope you don't miss me too much,
Kev
