My Trip to Bangkok

Posted on Sep. 26, 2004 at 10h38 in Thailand - September 2004 (Subscribe)

Bangkok ...one of the greatest cities I've seen. Before our trip, people recommended us to avoid spending too much time in Bangkok. They tild us there's not too much to see or do there. God help them!

This city had the tempo, the rythm, the sounds, the smell and the feel of something quite different. Just walking in the streets you walk through thousands of people, walking, running, talking all fast, all in a hurry. The scene is something I cannot really explain how so many people are in a hurry almost 24/7...

We stayed at one of the greatest hotels in Bangkok - The Banyan Tree Bangkok. We're talking about a 61 story building, where our room (actually more close to a suite) on the 50th floor, with huge windows wartching the city from the top.

Bangkok's weather is horrible. it's hot and humid, the streets stink and the air is polutes. nevertheless, one of the activities we enjoyed was taking the "tuk tuk", the small motorcycle taxi, driving through the streets, through the rain, the sun, the polution... Sounds horrible - I know, but there was something magical and attractive to it - you could really feel the city like that, and we liked it.

Next time i'll talk about some nice places we visited and shopping, meanwhile take care!
