Enjoying MBK Shopping Center in Bangkok

Posted on Sep. 17, 2006 at 03h30 in Thailand - September 2006 (Subscribe)

We just landed a few hours ago, and already i'm carrying bags. This is one of te "effects" of entering one of the most fantastic and enchanting shopping centers we visited.

The MBK shopping mall is located in the heart of the city of Bangkok, in the Silom area and it is very easy to get to and from the location (Sky Train, Taxi's, Tuk-Tuk...).

This mall features some 8 floors each with app. 100-150 stores (I counted!) - offering everything from cheap shoes, through mobile phones and SIM cards, to a whole floor with furniture shops.

There are thousands of people wasping around the mall most hours of the day, the tempo is high, music is played, giant screens show movies, trailers and TV (today was some English soccer match) and it does not matter if you actually need anything, the actual "walk-through" offers a unique experience.
