We have wheels!!

Yes, we have hired a car for a week, a little hyundai getz! i wanted a ford falcon coz they are well nice but they were 30 dollars more a day!! have a look at them mike, i think you will like!!!

The day before we got our car we went walking away from the coast and found some real nice areas around a lake, would love to live there!! was nice to see proper aussie life away from all the tourists at the coast! the water looked so nice i thought i would dip my feet in! as my mum was taking this pic of me, i felt something nibbling at my toes! when i got out of the water, my two big toes were bleeding!!! thought it might be leeches but nothing was stuck to me! Didnt know what it was but we were passing a pharmacy so thought we would pop in and get some anti bacterial wipes just in case i caught something nasty!!! we asked there what it might be but they didnt seem to know so obviously it wasnt anything deadly! dad was waiting outside the pharmacy so i came out saying "they think it might be crabs!!" then realised what i said and hoped nobody heard!! havent died yet tho so im ok!

so yesterday we hired the car and went for a drive up the mountains and had a lovely walk around the rainforest! was absolutely beautiful and a nice contrast to the coast.  and we caught our first glimpse of kangaroos!!!!!! we saw two on the side of the road that were very small, think they are called pademelons! and then i saw one in the trees that was bigger, a wallaby i think! that was exciting! and we saw the smallest lizard, bout 4 cms long! so cute! and the biggest ant with the longest legs ever, looked like he was walking on stilts! and kookaburras!

i still cant believe we are in australia! in a totally different time zone, sometimes a different day, a totally different season and another hemisphere!! wierd! but its an amazing country, is kind of like england but without all the crap bits!! reminds me of america alot too with the wide roads. also alot greener than i expected! anyway, we are off south down the coast now!
