37 degrees in dubai!!!!
yes it is very warm here!! but in the middle of summer, it has gone up to 57 degrees!!!!! its so hot in the summer and humidity is about 80 percent, that you cant actually go outside!! think you would melt! but i think its just lovely now! you cant sit out for too long but i still love it!
we spent the day we got here lying by the pool because we were too tired to do anything! we left Sydney at 9 pm and got to Dubai at 6am there time, but they are 6 hours behind so our bodies thought it was 12 noon, and we had gone all night with just a few uncomfortable hours sleep! 14 and a half hour flight! horrible! and we are coming home today! being picked up in a couple of hours for our flight at three, so will be home tonight! cant believe its all over! and we have got to go back to work!! will be very strange!
we had an amazing day yesterday! wnet to a beach and had a swim which was lovely, and they had a net to stop the jellyfish!! and then in the afternoon we arrranged to have a tour of Dubai. there is no way you can see everything on your own in so little time! we had our own personal driver, a lovely pakistani man and he drove us around for 5 hours taking us everywhere! it was amazing! we wnet to see the second largest shopping centre in the world, takes half a day to walk around!! but it is famous for its massive ski slope! very surreal! we were watching people ski through the window and someone chucked a snowball up at us!! someone threw a snowball at me in 37 degrees Dubai!!!!! that was wierd! its amazing in there tho! minus 4 degrees! must cost a fortune to keep cold!!
and we saw camels! they have camel racing here, they used to use children on the back because they are light but decided it was too dangerous after some died!! so replaced children for robots!!!! the owners of the camels drive alongside in their cars controlling the robot!! that made my day tho seeing all those camels!!
we also saw the stadium where they have the richest horse racing in the world! the palace of the ruler/royal family/president/government of Dubai!! he is everything this man! and he is funding all the construction work in Dubai! very rich! 80% of all the world cranes are being used in Dubai for the construction work! there is building going on everywhere but it is a growing city! and we saw what is going to be the tallest building in the world! its not finished yet but they keep adding floors, we heard that they are waiting to see how tall the new trade centre is going to be in new york because they want to beat it!!
and in the evening our driver took us to the spice markets and the gold markets where we spent lots of money!! the gold is much better than what we can get at home and also alot cheaper! we had fun haggling and i was just trying on really expensive stuff and pretending i was going to buy it!! think they thought we were rich! one of the men asked dad if he drove a ferrari!! i wish!!!! so emma, i have bout your bday present!!! hope you like it!! just remember its is very good gold!!! 22 carrat i think he said! mangaged to knock the price down loads but we did spend hundreds in one shop!!
i have had the most amazing curries here so we bought lots of spices and stuff so i can make my own! so cheap!
anyway, i better go and pack but i will write some more when i get home so please check again!
