China 2006

Great Wall (Changcheng) excursion was arranged through hostel.  The minibus carried 14 of us to Mutianyu section of the Wall 85km from Beijing.  The trip took about 90 minutes each way.  We spent 4 hours on the Wall.  Unlike Badaling section where bulk of tourists go, Mutianyu was pleasantly void of travellers.  We may have seen 50 people during our visit.  Vendors sat in watchtower hawking cold drinks and snacks.  They left us alone since we are "fellow Chinese" but they were somewhat persistent with westerners.
